Final Blog Post: Goodbye!

I began taking courses with eSociety last semester. I took Social Media and Ourselves as an elective and really loved it. I decided to take this class this semester as my second eSociety class based on the interest I took in Social Media and Ourselves. I ended up deciding half way through the semester to change my major completely to eSociety. After taking this course, I learned so much about tools I can take away from this class and the past course for real life. It has made me excited about taking the next step after college. I am very interested in relations to digital and social media within music. Both of parents working in music aren't in the social media part of it but talking about how everything is now becoming digital and both of their companies have been changing and they both have to change with it. I have always been a part of a team. If it was from high school, being a sports team to college working with members of my sorority for a philanthropy. This class not only taught me how to collaborate easier in person with our group presentations.  I believe bella's blog is always written on time and I think goes into great detail. I connect to her blog very often without knowing her that well personally.

Pepsi "BLM Movement" Commercial

In April of 2017, the Pepsi Ad including Kendall Jenner blew up across social media and the news. Many memes and backlash occurred after Pepsi released the controversial ad. In the ad, a protest was occurring and Kendall Jenner at the end grabs a Pepsi and hands it to the officers and the protest is over and celebrated. I believe that Kendall Jenner was in the wrong but people didn't focus on the advertisement as a whole. During the protests, even before Kendall Jenner joined in, people were running and jumping and smiling while protesting for Black Lives Matter. I thought that controversy should also be focused on them because never have I seen a protest occur that people were running with signs with a huge smile on their face. I know that Kendall Jenner was criticized the most because she was the big name in the advertisement but I believe the other actors be held accountable too. In my own life, this reminds me of the time when I was sophomore in high school. Growing up, I had the dream of being a volleyball and basketball player. Basketball was more of my strong suit and my sophomore year I tried out for the team. The first day I went to normal tryouts for the sophomore team but by the end of the day I was asked to go upstairs with varsity. I was the only one moved around into certain groups to see where my place was just like when Tickman talks about forming. The coach was trying to figure out where my role was on the team. I ended up making the varsity team.  It was nerve racking being with all juniors and seniors based on not knowing a lot of them very well at first. I felt the need to prove myself at every opportunity to show that I deserved to really be there. I ended up finding my place as a power forward based on

All the friends people have on Facebook, around ten of them actually have an impact on your life. This statement really impacted me. Never have a really thought about that but compared to my life, I have 2,702 Facebook friends and I completely agree with this statement. Being a kid you want to friend people you know and have heard of but I probably have 15 friends on Facebook that I really care about that know what is really going on in my life. The three tier are core, operational, and outer network. I see myself as the operational. I am someone that likes to make my own decisions and have creative control . Being creative is a strong suite for based on me wanting to always come up new ideas and styles. I like to have freedom over my ideas and work but like to get constructional feedback.
