Group Project

My group presented the Tuckman's 5 Stages with the show Friends. I had never watched the show Friends before but I watched a few episodes so I could be on the same page as all my group members.  Overall, our group got along well and split up the work evenly. Some members had difficulty doing it at the same time. The only bad part was the presentation. This was my first presentation of College and I get very nervous in front of a lot of people. Public speaking isn't my strong suit so it was hard till it was finally over.

    Hey Kaci!
    I haven't commented on your blog before so I am trying to reach out to people I haven't yet been in contact with. But I remember your project and I thought it was one of the best. Friends is a great show and perfect examples of Tuckman's five stages. Your presentation was intriguing and I understand about public speaking as I feel the same way. Practice makes perfect though! Well done.

In April of 2017, the Pepsi Ad including Kendall Jenner blew up across social media and the news. Many memes and backlash occurred after Pepsi released the controversial ad. In the ad, a protest was occurring and Kendall Jenner at the end grabs a Pepsi and hands it to the officers and the protest is over and celebrated. I believe that Kendall Jenner was in the wrong but people didn't focus on the advertisement as a whole. During the protests, even before Kendall Jenner joined in, people were running and jumping and smiling while protesting for Black Lives Matter. I thought that controversy should also be focused on them because never have I seen a protest occur that people were running with signs with a huge smile on their face. I know that Kendall Jenner was criticized the most because she was the big name in the advertisement but I believe the other actors be held accountable too. In my own life, this reminds me of the time when I was sophomore in high school. Growing up, I had the dream of being a volleyball and basketball player. Basketball was more of my strong suit and my sophomore year I tried out for the team. The first day I went to normal tryouts for the sophomore team but by the end of the day I was asked to go upstairs with varsity. I was the only one moved around into certain groups to see where my place was just like when Tickman talks about forming. The coach was trying to figure out where my role was on the team. I ended up making the varsity team.  It was nerve racking being with all juniors and seniors based on not knowing a lot of them very well at first. All the friends people have on Facebook, around ten of them actually have an impact on your life. This statement really impacted me. Never have a really thought about that but compared to my life, I have 2,702 Facebook friends and I completely agree with this statement. Being a kid you want to friend people you know and have heard of but I probably have 15 friends on Facebook that I really care about that know what is really going on in my life. The three tier are core, operational, and outer network. I see myself as the operational. I am someone that likes to make my own decisions and have creative control . Being creative is a strong suite for based on me wanting to always come up new ideas and styles. I like to have freedom over my ideas and work but like to get constructional feedback.
